In memory of
Donald Palasek
Palasek, Donald Donald Francis Palasek, age 71 of Comstock Park, MI passed away on the 9th of October 2019. He was lovingly cared by his wife, Gail Ann Palasek and preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Julia (Milanowski) Palasek, and his big brother James R. Palasek. Don had an unexpected second bout of cancer. He then came home to be with his wife and family in time to celebrate their joyous, 50th wedding anniversary. The anniversary was on October 3rd, 2019 and was attended by close family and friends. During the celebration Don and Gail were able to renew their wedding vowels in a small ceremony officiated by Don's cousin, Fr. Paul Milanowski. This was a double blessing as Fr. Paul was also the priest that married them 50 years ago. Don graduated from Catholic Central high school (Class of '66) and served proudly in the United States Coast Guard. Don built his career at Meijer over 33 years, retiring in 2007. The past decade Don and Gail enjoyed travel around the country and spoiling their grandkids and some grand puppies (Reggie, Winnie & Max). Don greatly enjoyed celebrating the holidays, primarily Halloween and 4th of July. He loved big grand fireworks, and a competitive friendship with neighbors decorating for Halloween. Don will be lovingly missed by his wife of 50 years, Gail A. (Butts) Palasek, his sister Margaret Trapp, and his children, James (Laura) Palasek and Katrina (Doug) Welch. His grandchildren, Aria and Mason Palasek. As well as numerous close family and friends. The family is deeply thankful to all those whom offered support, prayers and daily assistance and the many cards and flowers celebrating their 50th anniversary. Visitation will be held at Reyers North Valley Chapel on Saturday, October 12, 2019, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m with a Rosary at 8:30 p.m. Visitation continues Sunday October 13, 2019, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1120 4 Mile Rd. NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49525, from 1 p.m until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Donations may be made to the Charity of your choice.
