Helen A. Peer Enjoyed spending summers in South Belmar Helen A. Peer was born in Jersey City on Nov. 4, 1929, and passed away Oct. 7, 2019. She attended St. Vincent's School of Nursing in New York. Helen worked as a Registered Nurse until she met and married Leo Peer in 1956. They resided in Irvington, N.J., and had three children, Michele (Peer) Kearby, Denise (Peer) Kostakos and Donald Peer. Helen was a devoted Catholic, involved with several Prayer Groups throughout her life. She shared fellowship with many friends who loved her dearly. Her two life long passions were spending summers in South Belmar, N.J., and cheering on the New York Rangers. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and friend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1571 Martine Ave., Scotch Plains, N.J. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Ave., Jersey City, N.J. Family and friends may call on Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Ave, Cranford N.J. At the family's request, no flowers are to be sent. The family would like Mass Cards offered in Helen's name.
