Carole Oostendorp
Oostendorp, Carole Carole Oostendorp, age 77, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. She was born in Battle Creek, MI, to Rev. Lubbertus and Evelyn Oostendorp on April 27, 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister Anne Oostendorp. She is survived by her brothers, Derk and Nancy Oostendorp and Leon and Cindy Oostendorp; her nephews and nieces, Sue and Dave Dykema, Bill and Maryann Oostendorp, Linda Oostendorp, Karen and Chris Vance, Kellie and Chris Cunningham, Scott Oostendorp and Rachel Oostendorp. For many years Carole has been a member of La Grave Avenue Christian Reformed Church. She worked for 32 years as a pediatric nurse in Butterworth Hospital and also enjoyed traveling in Europe. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 16 at 11:00 am in the Battjes Chapel of LaGrave Avenue CRC, 107 LaGrave Avenue SE, with Rev. Ruth Boven officiating. Visitation will be held at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, on Tuesday, October 15 from 6 to 8 pm. Carole's family thanks Dr. Shandana and the staff of Lemmen Holton Cancer Pavilion for their care during her courageous three-year battle with cancer, The Visiting Angels for their support during the past year and Spectrum Butterworth and Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods for their special care during the last few weeks. Carole will be interred in Zeeland City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the Cuba Committee of La Grave Avenue CRC.
