Frank Rapacciuolo
Frank Rapacciuolo, 83 New York City police officer and family man Frank Rapacciuolo, 83 of Huguenot, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born Thursday, April 9, 1936 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Frank and Josephine. He was the beloved husband of Connie. They were married in 1958. Frank attended the Visitation School and then went on to graduate from Brooklyn Technical High School. After graduation, Frank joined the Army Reserves, where he served proudly. He then became a police officer for the New York City Police Department. Frank began his career in the 9th precinct and then relocated to the 120th precinct on Staten Island, where he worked primarily at the SI Ferry Terminal until his retirement in 1986. He was very active in the PBA. He served as a trustee to the Borough of Staten Island. Frank was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, and The Verrazano 1013 Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed betting and playing the horses as well as sipping a glass of scotch served neat. Above all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family. They were the true pride and joy of his life. Frank is survived by his wife Connie; children, Frank Rapacciuolo (Eileen), Mary Foley (John), and Anthony Rapacciuolo (Emanuela); brother, Vincent Rapacciuolo; grandchildren Jason, Justin and Ryan Foley, and Frank and Andrea Rapacciuolo; a great grandchild, Dominic Foley, and his second great grandchild who is arriving January 2020, as well as his sixth grandchild. Frank was predeceased by his son, John, and his brother, Salvatore. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 5411 Amboy Road. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd., Staten Island, N.Y.
