Johnnie Yvonne (Yvonne) Dobbs
DOBBS, Johnnie Yvonne (Yvonne) Johnnie Yvonne (Yvonne) Dobbs passed away quietly and peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2019, the first centenarian of her family. She is now gracefully in the hands of God and reunited with her sister, Margie, who preceded her in passing only 2 months ago. Yvonne was born in Honey Grove, Texas, on June 13, 1918, the second of three daughters to John Thomas Dobbs and Elizabeth Powell Dobbs. She is survived by her nephew and niece Joe D. and Landra Dobbs, niece Judy Yocom and her family of Denver, Colorado, niece Patsy Buzbee of Lubbock, great nephews Juston and Barton Dobbs and their families and John, Chip and Dick Duval and their families. Together with Margie, Yvonne remained very close to several extended families including John and Betty Groves and sons Kelly and Matt, Connie and Gene Bryant, Dale and Sharon McGehee, David and Trixie Carlock, Nancy and John Rogers, Mickey and Dortha Collins and Gene and Jennie Collins. Yvonne graduated from Honey Grove high school in 1936, attended Paris Junior College and eventually became part of the administration of the Honey Grove School District. She was a loyal and loving life long member of the First Christian Church in Honey Grove. Together with Margie she moved to Richardson in 1957 on a quest for the two of them to become floral designers. Following classes in floral design in Dallas, and with support from their sister and brother-in-law, Margie's Florist and Gift Shop was created in Richardson Heights Village, where it remained for the next 40 years. With her sister as the lead in the business details of the shop, Yvonne was the "Chief Operating Officer" in the work room, conforming to providing only the best in floral design for the customer. Yvonne was a disciplinarian during her life and also provided the template for high personal standards, also being a role model within her family and friends. Those standards along with her quick wit and lasting smile will be remembered by all who knew her. The remembrance of Yvonne is forever coupled with the remembrance of Margie together, as they remained admirably devoted to one another their entire lives. A graveside service and Memorial are pending at the Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove. Memorial contributions can be made to: Oakwood Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 96, Honey Grove, TX 75446
