John Thomas Myrin
John Thomas Myrin Jan. 22, 1941 - Oct. 4, 2019 With a heavy heart we announce the passing of John Thomas Myrin, Oct. 4, 2019. John was born in Portland, Jan. 22, 1941. He attended Madeleine elementary school before graduating from Central Catholic High School in 1959. John loved his career in the lumber industry. He got his start at North Pacific Group and eventually ventured out on his own to start his company, M&E Forest Products, which he was very proud of. He could do his business from anywhere, which allowed him to frequent two of his favorite places, San Francisco and Cannon Beach, where he made many lifelong memories with his friends and family. His love of talking, cooking and wine meant that he was always in the middle of the action, and he liked it that way. When he wasn't in the kitchen, he could often be found with his friends at the Goose Hollow Inn, enjoying a cold beer and a Rueben sandwich. He was also a 40-year member of the Multnomah Athletic Club where he enjoyed his workouts and cooling down at the Sports Pub. He is survived by his wife, Mary Gidney; sisters, Martha White (Butch) and Patricia Stupfel (Mike); his daughters, Meaghan Gross and Erin Hagens (Jason) and four grandchildren, Parker and Ryan Gross and Caroline and Grace Hagens. He is also survived by multiple cousins, nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held Nov. 9, 2019, in Portland and details will be shared with his friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association at: alz.org Please sign the online guest book at www.oregonlive.com/obits

Product Description

This extraordinary mixed flower bouquet delivers your sympathy with a beauty and faith that reflects the love and loss you feel. The asymmetrical bouquet is hand-arranged by a local FTD artisan florist to make a reverent and respectful setting for an urn of the deceased's cremated remains. Around an angel sculpted of artist's resin are pink roses, carnations, Stargazer lilies, statice and lush greens in a tabletop container that's not visible when set on a flat surface. It makes a fitting focal point for a wake or funeral service. Standard bouquet is approximately 11"H x 20"W.
