In memory of
Michael F. Ryan
Michael F Ryan, husband of Mary (Rohrsen) died, September 28, 2019 surrounded by family and friends after a long, courageous struggle with cancer. Michael was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 6, 1948 to the late Norbert and Rosemary Ryan. Michael and Mary married on October 12,1990. He will be missed by his family: Pat (Jerry) Greenwald, Joan (the late Paul) Kertay, Tim (Dottie) Ryan, Peggy (Bill) Schretter, Mary (Tom) Komosa) and Chris Ryan. Michael was the loving uncle of Peter Greenwald, Todd (Tara) Greenwald, Kelly (Matt) Teich, Daniel Ryan, Nick (Jennifer) Schretter, John Komosa, Alex Komosa, great uncle to several nephews and nieces, and loyal friend to many. Michael was a Sales and Business Development professional who was experienced in all facets of enterprise resource planning and execution systems as they apply to global organizations. Michael was recognized and respected in business for his individual performance, strong leadership skills, negotiation abilities, and solid execution, while understanding business impact on all levels. Michael also enjoyed gardening, golfing, fishing in Canada, and watching cooking shows. He valued the creativity of chefs and shared the ideas he drew from them, which truly inspired his art of cooking. Michael's greatest attributes were his generosity, loyalty, appreciation, humility, compassion and understanding. As a mentor, he freely gave of himself and never expected much in return. Integrity and honesty were his standards, and he valued this in others. Michael challenged himself when he encountered a problem and worked tirelessly to find solutions. Even when faced with adversity, Michael maintained a positive attitude, was gracious, and was persistent until the end. We never know when we experience the last communication with someone we respect and value. Michael made this world a better place, he made a difference and we were fortunate to know and love him. All who knew him will miss him. Michael chose to act out of kindness, compassion and love – he was aligned with the true purpose of life. Visitation: Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. The Church of the Holy Apostles, McHenry, IL followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.
