JEANETTE BARCLAY
Jeanette Waugh Dobbie Stewart Barclay. On Wednesday September 25, 2019, Jeanette was called home to be with The Lord. She was born Christmas Day 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Andrew Dobbie Stewart and Margaret Waugh Stewart from Kilsyth, Scotland. She graduated from BGSU in 1951 with a Bachelor's Degree in Science and Education. As teacher she never lost her passion and love for learning. She always instilled and shared her love for the arts with her children and grandchildren. Jeanette married the love of her life, Donald K. Barclay (deceased), in 1955. Together they raised three children, Heather, Bradford, and Alexander. She enjoyed attending cultural events, volunteering, golfing, Jeopardy, gardening, and spending time with her poodle. Her greatest joy in life has always been spending time with her family. Jeanette will be lovingly remembered by her children Heather B. Harris (Steve- deceased), Bradford A. Barclay (Bridget), and Alexander D. Barclay (Kara). Grandchildren Amanda Snow (Jacob), Joshua Harris (Brittany), Kyle Harris (Jennifer), Kelsey Harris, Allison Barclay, Erin Barclay, and Andrew Barclay; great-grandchildren Madeline Snow, Sophia Snow, and Evelyn Harris; many loving nieces and nephews, Norma and Robert Burrows. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any charity that supports the arts. The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Westlake Village for assisting Jeanette during her final days. Memorial Service Details: Dover UCC Church Monday, October 14th; 11:00 Memorial Service. Luncheon to follow.
