Janet M. Niesi
Janet M. Niesi, 69 Loving wife, mother, and grandmother Janet Niesi passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019, at the Addeo Hospice Residence, S.I., after a long battle with multiple myeloma. Born in Staten Island, she attended New Dorp High School and worked at Curtis High School for 18 years as a school aide, where she fostered lifelong friendships with her coworkers. Janet greatly enjoyed cruising, Atlantic City, crafting flower pens, and decorating her home for the various holidays. Her greatest joy in later years became the love of her three grandsons, who she simply adored. Janet was an extremely loving, caring, and thoughtful person who was so deeply loved and respected. She is survived by her husband, Thomas; parents, Yolanda and Vincent (Jimmy) Tumminello; children, Tara Niesi-Alexandria, and Vincent; their spouses, Mark and April Groth-Niesi; and her grandchildren Eric Scott, Cole Thomas, and Hunter Robert. In lieu of flowers, donations to themmrf.org or S.I. University Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
