Nancy Rego Smith
Nancy Rego Smith, 62 Beloved mother of five, and adored grandmother of 10 Nancy Rego Smith, 62, passed away on Sept. 23, 2019, after a long illness. She is survived by her five children, David Smith, Jessica Tafuri, Herbert Smith, Thomas Smith, Melissa Wong, and 10 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her former husband, Herbert E. Smith, and her parents, Marvey Rego and Gertrude Orsini Rego. Nancy was an only child but grew up as a sibling to her many cousins. Nancy worked as a matron for A&B bus company for over 25 years, assisting disabled adults and children. Nancy was happiest surrounded by her family. Her greatest joy was being called Meme by her grandchildren, whom she adored. She enjoyed vacations to the Bahamas and weekend trips to AC with her longtime companion Frank Smith. She loved going to Disney and attending her grandchildren's activities. Friends may visit at Colonial Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. Colonial Funeral Home 2819 Hylan Blvd. Staten Island, NY 10306 (718) 351-5858
