John Daniel Sullivan Jr.
John Daniel Sullivan, Jr. Franklin - John Daniel Sullivan, Jr. "Sully" and "Papa Sully" 87, of Franklin TN died on August 24, 2019. Son of John Daniel and Dorothy Matilda (Damhorst) Sullivan, Sr., passed away peacefully surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his two daughters Jo Anne Merit (William) Santa Barbara, CA and Catherine Jean Laufman (Dan) Franklin TN, three grandchildren Ryan Lee Harrington (Carey), Jessica Louise Power (Christopher), and Danielle Olivia Laufman, as well as four great-grandchildren. Sully was one of eight siblings, and is survived by his sister Mary Alice Akers (Randy), and brother Timothy Sullivan (Debra). A native of Quincy, Illinois, Sully served our country as Sgt in the US Army, stationed at Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He migrated to Southern California in 1957 where he worked as an Ironworker Local 433 until he retired in 1995. He and his wife, Angie moved to Franklin TN in 2014. He was on the Board of Directors of the Creekside HOA, was a part-time host at Old Chicago Pizza and was an active social member in his neighborhood. A wake will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Emotiva Audio , 135 SE Parkway CT, Franklin at 1:00 -4PM. A funeral mass and burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Quincy, Illinois on September 28, 2019. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children http://donate.lovetotherescue.org/papasully
