John A. Williamson
AVON - John Aaron Williamson, surrounded by his children, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on Sept. 9, 2019. He was born July 10, 1926, in Alpha, Minnesota, to Ira Jason and Bertha Ethel (Rule) Williamson. He married Gloria June Arndt on July 31, 1954. He is survived by one son, Terry John (and Sherry) Williamson; and five daughters, Peggy June Williamson, Tammy Joy Cress, Penny Jo Williamson, Tonny Jill Williamson and Patty Jan (and Danny) Boone. He adored his 11 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John farmed all his life and served in the National Guard and United States Army as a military police officer, artillery mechanic and expert marksman during and after World War II. He worked at Butler Manufacturing Co. for over 40 years, retiring in 1992. An avid sportsman of hunting, fishing and trapping, he enjoyed and fostered many to learn the arts of his life's passions.
