Oliver Jasper (Buck) Ozment
Oliver Jasper (Buck) Ozment born January 15, 1921, passed from this life on September 6th, 2019. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Clara Gibson Ozment, his parents, James Arthur Ozment and Hassie Parker Ozment, and his son, Oliver Jasper Ozment, Jr. He is survived by his daughter-in-law Susan Ozment, his daughter Gerri Ozment Monosky (Jerry), his son, James Franklin Ozment (Ruthie), 5 grandchildren, Bryan Monosky (Nina), Mark Monosky, Caroline Ozment Abadie (Matt), Andy Ozment (Ragnhild), and James Ozment, and 8 great grandchildren, Jacob, Brooke, and Bailey Monosky, Isabelle, Eleanor, and Catherine Abadie, Ingrid Ozment Handagard, and Signe Handagard Ozment. He was a World War II veteran who proudly served his country in the Army Signal Corps. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. He worked as a cattle rancher most of his life. He was a long time member, deacon and song leader of the Sumterville Baptist Church, and later was a member of the Livingston Baptist Church. Funeral was held at Livingston 1st Baptist Church, Livingston, AL, Wednesday, September 11th. The family is grateful to Sheila Sanders, Kayla Henderson, Cynthia Whitlow, and Sandy Rivers for the wonderful care that the ladies gave Mr. Ozment in his final months. Please send memorials to Righteous Oaks Recovery Center in Chunky, Mississippi, where Mr. Ozment's nephew, Rev. John Lisenbe, is in active ministry.
