Marie Dighera
Marie Dighera, 95, passed away on August 26th at Fullerton Gardens Memory Care Facility in Fullerton, California. She was born in Walsenburg, Colorado to James and Teresa Curto. Marie grew up in Canon City, Colorado. She graduated from high school in Canon City. She later attended classes at Cerritos College in Cerritos, California. She worked for the Buena Park School District as an Instructional Assistant for over 30 years. Marie married James Dighera in 1947 and they were happily married for 45 years. Marie is survived by her four children, Melanie Heinbuch, Jacqueline Lewzader, John Dighera and Michael Dighera; her sister, Dyan Caldwell; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Marie was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed being with her family. She was an active member of her local parish, enjoyed square-dancing, and was a volunteer usher at the La Mirada Theater. She was dearly loved by friends and family and will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held at Beatitudes of Our Lord Catholic Church in La Mirada on Thursday, September 12 at 10:30 AM. A private burial will be held on September 13th at Resurrection Cemetery in Rosemead.
