Opal passed away peacefully on August 10, 2019. She was born on May 23, 1924 in Hereford, Texas to Perry H Barnes and Pearl P "Burroughs" Barnes. Opal graduated high school in Sudan, Texas and moved to the Rafter 6 Ranch, Colorado in 1941. Opal married Joseph "Toppy" Lechner, moved to Rockwood, CO, they had a son H. Gale Lechner, later they moved to Ignacio, CO. Opal worked at Maxwells in Durango and then at the Ignacio Shur Valu grocery store. Opal was an avid gardner and loved her hobbies and to cook. She was preceded in death by her son Gale, husband Toppy and her siblings. Per her request there will be no services. Opal Dorce "Barnes" Lechner
