George Albert McMillan Sr.
Mr. George Albert McMillan, Sr. age 88, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019. He was born October 17, 1930 in Whistler, Alabama to Clyde and Mable Mayo McMillan. Mr. McMillan was a resident of Freeport Florida. He was Methodist by faith and a member of the Portland United Methodist Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He worked with Civil Service at Eglin Air Force Base for 31 years before retiring. He also served as the president for the Forster's. He also worked at the voting polls for the Walton County Supervisor of Elections for many years. He volunteered for numerous children's charities. He was a member of the Freeport Lions Club. Mr. McMillan was preceded in death by his parents; one son, George McMillan, Jr.; one daughter, Diana McMillan, brother, Clyde McMillan, Jr., one granddaughter, Olivia McMillan, sister, Doris Jones. Mr. McMillan is survived by his wife of 69 years, Elizabeth McMillan of Freeport; one son, Roger McMillan of Freeport; two daughters, Dorothy Elaine Johnson and husband Max of New Mexico and Betty Pettis and husband Pete of Freeport; one sister, Blanche Boyles of Mobile, Alabama; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20, Freeport, Florida 32439 .Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Portland United Methodist Church, 40 Church Street, Freeport Florida 32439, with Reverend Jonathan O'Hare officiating.
