Gene C. Rains
Gene C. Rains, age 72, passed away on August 18, 2019 at home in Fort Walton Beach. He was born in North Charleston, South Carolina to Cecil and Thelma Rains. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Leo Rains. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Candace Rains; daughter Carissa (Jim) Beyer; grand-daughters Brooke, Marisa and Katelin and brothers Wayman Rains and Robert (Frances) Rains. Gene retired as MSGT in the USAF in 1988 while working at Eglin AFB hospital. He continued with Civil Engineering in the hospital until his civil service retirement in 2010. A Celebration of Life is planned for Friday, September 6th at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Walton Beach with lunch immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed and viewed online at www.emeraldcoastfuneralhome.com.
