Bob was born in Portland, Oregon on December 9, 1924. His family moved to Ionia, Michigan when he was a young boy. Bob attended school in Ionia and joined the Navy as a ship radio operator at the early age of 17. Upon his return to Michigan, he married Letha Delores Hyatt and began a career in sales. He and "Dee" had three children, Scott, Robyn, and Kelli. Eventually his love of electronics and sales led to the starting of various businesses, and in 1960 Robyn International was founded and named after his oldest daughter. Bob and "Dee" raised their family in Rockford until Dee's untimely death. Bob married Kaylyn Cheryl York in 1969 and continued to act as CEO of his highly successful electronic company, designing and manufacturing the Robyn CB radio. He retired early and when the children were grown, he and Kaylyn spent their winters in Wailea, Maui, a special place for the entire family. Bob was a golfer after retirement, loved his lake house, and enjoyed all the gifts that God had blessed him with. Bob spent his final few years cared for by the Greenhouse Home staff at Porter Hills and Gauthier Family Home Care.
