In memory of
Arnold "Arny" Van Dyken
Van Dyken, Arnold "Arny" age 92, passed peacefully on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. He will be forever loved by his wife of 70 years, Shirley, and his family. Arny was born in Zeeland, Michigan but raised in the foothills outside of Bozeman, Montana. Montana always held his heart. Arny served his country in the United States Navy, 6th Marine Division, during WWII (Pacific Theater). In 1949, Arny and Shirley were married, and he founded Van Dyken Mechanical Inc. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Elizabeth Van Dyken; brothers Alex "Dutch" and Harold; and sister, Marian Dykema. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Evilsizer); five children Randy (Toni), Debby (Rob) Melville, Cindy (John) Herdegen, Scott (Sue), and Nancy; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Leona Hoogewind and Betty Van Dyke; and brother-in-law, Bob (Velma) Hendershott. Where We'll Never Grow Old, written by James Cleveland Moore "I have heard of a land on the faraway strand, 'Tis a beautiful home of the soul; Built by Jesus on high, where we never shall die, 'Tis the land where we'll never grow old. Never grow old, never grow old; In a land where we'll never grow old. When our work here is done and the life crown is won, And our troubles and trials are o'er; All our sorrow will end and our voices will blend with the loved ones who've gone on before. Never grow old..." The family would like to thank Nancy Ulberg, Raquelle MacDonald, Priscilla Christian and the staff of the Inn at Freedom Village (Mission West skilled nursing) for their compassion, kindness and dedication. Memorial will be private. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcares.com .
