Charles Asa Hoffman PORT GIBSON - Charles "Charlie" Hoffman left us on Friday, June 21, 2019, at Rochester General Hospital, after a brave battle with cancer. The family will greet friends who wish to pay their respects tomorrow (Wednesday, June 26) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home, 19 N. Main St.., Manchester. A graveside service will follow calling hours at Brookside Cemetery, 18 Hebron Ave., Shortsville. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Port Gibson Fire Department, 2939 Greig St., Port Gibson, NY 14537, in appreciation of their dedication and service to the Hoffman family. Charlie was born on Aug. 10, 1963, in Canandaigua to the late Duane and Lucille Hoffman, formerly of Manchester. He graduated from Red Jacket High School in 1983 and then graduated from Alfred State College. Charlie was known as an awesome mechanic and a friend to everyone he met. Family brought him his greatest joy. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Joyce (Converse) Hoffman; children, Amanda (Brandon Klahn) Hoffman, Asa (Heidi) Hoffman, Moriah (Kaid) Green and Skyler (Liz Bulman) Hoffman, all of Port Gibson; and sisters, Carol (Tim) Simmons of Shortsville and Susan (David) Mawn of Birdsall, N.Y.; He was Poppy to his precious grandchildren, Viola Hoffman, Reilly Green, Charlotte Hoffman, Dalton Hoffman and Jenna and Jessie Hammond. He was also the best uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
