Peter B. Sheridan
Peter B. Sheridan Business owner, Army veteran, active in Martinsville church Peter B. Sheridan of Bridgewater, N.J., 91, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2019. Peter was born in Elizabeth, N.J., and raised on Scotland Road in Orange. He was a 1945 graduate of Seton Hall Preparatory School and Columbia University School of Engineering, graduating in 1949 with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving stateside at the time of the Korean War. He worked for several central New Jersey companies in the early 1950s before joining the pharmaceutical engineering department of Calco (later American Cyanamid) in Bridgewater. He went on to own and manage Sheridan-Martin Associates in Somerville, N.J., for over 40 years. Peter married Catherine Schottinger of Dunellen, N.J., in 1953. They moved to Martinsville, N.J., where he resided for more than 50 years. Peter was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville and was one of the founding members of the church youth group. He served faithfully as a Eucharistic minister and CCD teacher for many years and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5959. Peter will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A sweet, kindhearted gentleman, he was "P.B." to his family and Grandpa to so many others. He was predeceased by his son, Peter Michael, in 1974, and his wife, Catherine, in 2002. Surviving are his brother, John and his wife, Eileen; sons, James (Kim), John (Sheila) and daughters, Mary Braunschweiger (Art) and Maureen Sheridan. He leaves behind seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville. Arrangements are by Bruce C.
