Eugene Thomas Moloney
Eugene Thomas Moloney Father of six and USMC veteran, 'a true gentleman' Eugene Thomas Moloney, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on June 5, 2019. Eugene (Gene) was born on March 31, 1926, to Winifred and Frank Moloney of Bayonne, N.J. Over the years he shared many fond memories of growing up with his four brothers and one sister in Bayonne. Gene graduated from Holy Family Academy and attended Villanova University. He was proud to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps as a corporal stationed at Camp Lejeune. In 1948, Gene married the love of his life, Marie Burke of Bayonne. They resided in Bayonne until moving to Cranford, N.J., in 1958, where they raised their six children. They were happy days with life centered around the many activities of the children, laughter around the dinner table and summers at the Jersey Shore. Throughout these years, until his retirement, Eugene worked with his brothers for the family business, Moloney's Meat Market of Bayonne. Eugene was a true gentleman whose greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 71 years, Marie Moloney, and his children, Cathy Becker and husband, Robert; Tom and wife, Michaeline; Bill and wife, Ivone and Bettyanne. He was predeceased by son James and daughter Jean Marie. Eugene was the proud grandfather of Jesse Becker, Reyna Clancy and husband, Tim; Sara Becker and husband, Marcin Szajda; Alan Yuch Jr. and Jason Moloney, and great-grandfather to Tallula Clancy, Fiona Szajda and Kiara Szajda. He leaves behind his dear sister, Alice Moloney. There will be a private memorial service.
