Glenn E. Williams
Glenn E. Williams, 69, of Lower Swatara Township, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019, at his residence. Born in Wilmington, DE, on November 8, 1949, he was the son of the late Leslie and Marie Lenza Williams. Glenn was a Clerk Supervisor for the Workman's Compensation Department for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He graduated from Laurel High School, Laurel DE in 1967 and was very proud of having played on 3 Diamond State Championship Baseball Teams in 1964, 1965 and 1967 for his high school. He also graduated from HACC in 1972 and attended Elizabethtown College. Glenn was a great American and Patriot, served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1970 and was a decorated Vietnam Veteran. He served with the 101st Airborne Division from 1968 to 1969 and was on 5 helicopter assault landings in hostile A Shau Valley for which he received 2 Bronze Stars, 1 with an oak cluster and 5 Air Assault Medals and Vietnam Combat Medals. Glenn was most proud of his service with the 82nd Airborne from 1969 to 1970 where he assisted with the Hurricane Camille (1969) cleanup and supply in Biloxi, Miss. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Carol Kosloski Williams; one son Michael Williams; one daughter Kristen Williams: Mother-in-law, Phyllis Miller; a niece Lauren DaCosta wife of Jason; two nephews, Erik Williams and Ryan Brumbach; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Williams and Susan Brumbach wife of Kenneth. In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Williams. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17, 2019, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment with full military honors will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Middletown. Friends will be received in the funeral home for a viewing on Friday from 10 AM until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in memory of Glenn to: Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110; or the Laurel High School Class of 1967; or the Humane Society of the Harrisburg Area, Inc., East Shore Shelter, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg PA 17111.
