David J. Laferriere
David J. Laferriere, 63 of Parma, Ohio passed away Feb. 3, 2019. David was born in Holyoke, MA to Carol and Richard Laferriere on October 2, 1955. He was a 1973 graduate of Holyoke High School and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering from WPI in 1977. He lived for many years in Nashua, NH where he was employed by Hampshire Chemical. He eventually served as Plant Manager and loved his work and his fellow employees at the Nashua site. Dave enjoyed golfing, skiing, coin collecting, astronomy and spending time with family and friends. He leaves his wife Holly (Mekker) Laferriere; two daughters, Heather and her husband Brian Laybourne of Boulder, CO and Lauren and her husband Adrian Rocha of Indianapolis, Indiana; his mother, Carol Laferriere and sister, Gayle Hellyar both of Holyoke, and his father-in-law, Frank Mekker of Ohio. He was predeceased by his father, Richard Laferriere and sister, Karen Fontaine, both of Holyoke. He will be sadly missed by two grandchildren, Benjamin Laybourne and Michael Rocha, his former wife, Sharon Laferriere of Hudson, NH and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial Mass will be at Blessed Sacrament Church in Holyoke, MA on Monday, Feb. 11 at 10 AM. Memorial donations may be made to the Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter, PO Box 3116, Nashua, NH.
