Vera Russo Reynolds BUSHKILL TOWNSHIP Vera Russo Reynolds of Bushkill Township, PA, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, in St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem, PA, with her beloved husband by her side. Born in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of Rosalie and the late John Russo and was raised in Phillipsburg. She and her husband, Craig, enjoyed 37 years of marriage. They grew up a block away from each other. Vera was a passionate educator and taught in the Pohatcong Township School District for over 40 years, before her retirement. As a teacher Vera changed many lives. As one former student said "If you were lucky enough to have Mrs. Reynolds as a teacher, she was your all-time favorite teacher." Vera lived with exuberance and a kind and compassionate heart, always putting others first. She was passionate and warm. Her greatest joy was her daughter, Valerie Wasser, also an educator. Vera cherished her time spent with Valerie and her husband, Ryan, and her grandchildren, Kole, Tyler, and Crew. Vera was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School. She attended St. John's University, earned her B.A. from Kean University, and her master's degree in education from Lehigh University. She was a member of St. Jane's de Chantal Catholic Church in Easton. She loved being with her big Italian family and in addition to her husband, daughter, and son-in-law, she is survived by brothers, Art Russo (Kay Thompson) and Joseph Russo and wife, Ruthann; sisters, Mary Ann Marfia and husband, John Jr., Linda Dolceamore and husband, Anthony Jr., and Christine Sostarecz and husband, Jay; grandchildren, Kole, Tyler, and Crew; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. in Ss. Philip and James Catholic Church, 430 S. Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m in Doyle-Devlin Funeral Home, Inc., 695 Corliss Ave, Phillipsburg, NJ. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in Greenwich Township.
