Stephen Dale Grimes Evansville, Indiana Evansville, IN. - Stephen Dale Grimes, 64, of Evansville, Indiana passed away surrounded by family at the home of his sister and brother in law Susan and Greg Crick on Monday, February 4, 2019. Steve was born January 22, 1955 in Huntingburg, Indiana to Ruth Atkins and the late Glenn Grimes. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and listening to the rain. Steve was also a dedicated sports fan especially his beloved New York Yankees. Steve is preceded in death by his father, Glenn; grandparents, Arl and Jeanette Grimes and Earl and Beulah Bradshaw. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Atkins of Newburgh; children Shane (Kim) Grimes of Mt. Vernon; Emily Cole of Newburgh; Sarah (Scott) Bogan of Newburgh; grandchildren, Karlie Cole, Kaden Cole, Aubrey Grimes, Ally Grimes; brother, Stan Grimes of Evansville; sister, Susan Crick; and a brother-in-law who was very much like a brother and best friend, Greg Crick; nephews, Josh and Zack Grimes, Ryan, Travis, and Clay Crick. He had two pet companions that he loved very much Lucy and Vanna. A memorial service will be held at 6 P.M. on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Indiana with Pastor Mike Claypool officiating. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 6 P.M. on Friday, February 8, 2019 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to It Takes a Village Rescue in Evansville, Indiana.
