Michael Joel Ramirez
ODESSA - Devoted Son, Brother and Uncle Michael Joel Ramirez, 44, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. He was born on March 10, 1974, in Odessa, TX to Jaime Ramirez Jr. and Cathy Ramirez. Michael attended Texas A&M and UTPB. He was a brother of Kappa Delta Rho in the Epsilon Gamma Chapter at the University of the Permian Basin. Michael lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with family and friends, snacking, and spending time watching sports. Texas A&M football was his passion as well as the Dallas Stars and the Dallas Mavericks. He lived a fulfilled life being selfless by generously donating to catastrophe organizations and local charities. He had four nephews, Nick Ramirez, Nathaniel Ramirez, Kaden Ramirez, and Isaac Reyes as well as a niece, Mikayla Reyes. He is survived by his parents, Jaime and Cathy Ramirez, a sister, Veronica Reyes and husband Robert Reyes, and brother Adrian Ramirez and wife Amanda Ramirez. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Michael. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life, starting with a visitation at 6pm and a Rosary at 7pm on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Mass for Michael will be Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 10am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, followed by burial at Ector County Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Nickolas Ramirez, Isaac Reyes, Devon Subia, Rowdy Granado, Jaime E. Ramirez, Tre Thompson, Anjel Castro, and Sammy Lara.
