JoAnn Jordan Kinsey
A celebration of life service for JoAnn Jordan Kinsey, 80, of Tyler will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Cannon officiating. Burial will follow at Sabine Cemetery in Lindale under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Kinsey passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in Tyler. She was born September 11, 1938 in Chandler to Obia Lee Jordan and Nevada Minerva Pool Jordan. During her adult life she lived in College Station, TX; Pine Bluff, AR; Mobile, AL; Springhill, LA; Pascagoula, MS; Jefferson, TX; and then moved back to Tyler with her husband, James (Jack) P. Kinsey. JoAnn was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church, Tyler. JoAnn received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 26 and devoted her life to prayer, counseling, and teaching women's Bible Study groups, both at church and in her home. She graduated from Tyler High School. JoAnn was employed in a number of clerical positions. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Le Roy and Coy Jordan; and sisters, Charlcie Witherspoon, Pauline Reeves and Azalee Cantrell. She is survived by her husband, James P. Kinsey; her son, James S. Kinsey, and wife Laura; daughters, Sharla Webb, Dana Turner and husband Mark. JoAnn also had five grandchildren: Brock Kinsey, Marshall Webb, Lanae Webb, Derek Turner, Trevor Turner and wife Autumn, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a brother, Troy Dan Jordan and wife Jean. Pallbearers will be Marshall Webb, Derek Turner, Trevor Turner, Brock Kinsey, Brad Witherspoon, Larry Jordan, Troy Jordan, James Polich, Dennie Kinsey, Rickey Kinsey, Robert Kinsey, Kyle Kinsey and Clarence Ohnheiser. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
