Marvin F. Meyer
Marvin F. "Buddy" Meyer, 89, New Haven, passed away Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, at his home. Marvin, son of the late Christ J. Meyer and wife Lou Edna, nee Meyer, was born Jan. 24, 1929, in New Haven. He was the husband of Norma Lee, nee Danz, Meyer. They were united in marriage July 28, 1951, in New Haven. Marvin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, the New Haven American Legion and the V.F.W. He owned and ran BMS Drilling, which he started in 1980. He enjoyed farming, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marvin is survived by his wife, Norma Lee Meyer, of the home; a daughter, Sharon Marie Meyer, New Haven, a son, Marvin Douglas Meyer and wife Cindy, New Haven, a son, Chris Meyer, Lake Ozark, and a daughter, Janice Ann Lammert and husband Dale, St. Clair; nine grandchildren, Tricia Grannemann and significant other James Gross, Tony Gumper and wife Kristin, Derrick Meyer and wife Hannah, Leslie Lawyer and husband Ryan, Christopher Meyer and wife Brandy, Brittany Kuchem and husband Corey, Crickett Paice and husband Travis, Courtney Baker and husband Marc, and Aaron Meyer and significant other Haley; 15 great-grandchildren, Payton, Mackenzie, Colton, Lexi, Lane, Luke, Kaisyn, Caden, Charlie, Emerson, Lucy, Sienna, Liam, Primrose and soon-to-join, Theodore; a brother-in-law, Gene Juedemann; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Madaline Gerdes and husband Olen, and Vera Juedemann; an infant brother; two nieces, Bobbi Ann Baries and Kaileigh Weaks; and one nephew, Kenny Gerdes. Visitation was held Wednesday, Aug. 15, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven. Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Poe officiating. Burial was at New Haven Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or St. Peter's U.C.C., New Haven, in care of Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home. Arrangements were in care of Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven.
