Myrna M. Ross Greenburgh - Myrna Marie Ross from White Plains, NY passed away on June 15, 2018 in White Plains Hospital. She was born November 13, 1943 to Ruth and Charles Granger in Harlem, NY. She received a bachelor's degree in education from Morgan State University. Myrna was employed by the New York City Board of Education. After completing 23 years of teaching in NYC, Myrna became a teacher for Greenburgh Central 7 School District. She retired from teaching in 1999, after 34 years in the field. She was an active member of Metropolitan AME Zion Church. There she served as the director of Christian Education, chaired health fairs, and sang in the choir. She was also a charter member of Delta Nu Sigma chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. in Westchester County, & served on the Black Scholars Advisory board. Myrna is preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Dyson, her mother Ruth Granger, and father Charles Granger. She is survived by her husband, William Ross; children: Mark Ross (LeAndra Duncan-Ross), Kellie Ross-Johnson (Maurisse Johnson); granddaughters: Kamara, Chandler, and Eryn Ross, and grandson, Bryce Johnson. The Wake will be 5-9pm tomorrow, Wed. June 20, 2018 at Lee's Funeral Home, 160 Fisher Av., White Plains, NY. Funeral Service will be 10AM Thurs., June 21st at Mt. Hope AME Zion Church, 65 Lake St., White Plains, NY. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Woodland High School Scholarship Fund or Metropolitan AME Zion Church building fund in memory or Myrna Ross.
