ALEXANDRA VREELAND
Alexandra 'Allie' Vreeland Gifted singer-songwriter, devoted daughter and friend Alexandra "Allie" Vreeland, 30, born and raised in Staten Island, N.Y., passed peacefully on Oct. 27, 2017, in Monroe, N.C., with her family and friends by her side, after a long battle with breast cancer. A 2005 graduate of The Petrides School, she completed a bachelor's degree in music studies from Berklee College of Music in Boston. After being diagnosed in 2015, Allie started a support group on Staten Island for young people with breast cancer and spent the last months of her life caring for her pet chickens at her country home in Monroe, N.C. A gifted singer and songwriter, Allie was a selfless giver to anyone she met and lit up any room with her infectious laugh. Her life legacy was to offer a compassionate ear, lend a helping hand and encounter the world with an open heart. Allie is survived by her mother, Beth Portuesi-Cotroneo; her father and stepmother, Richard and LeAnne Vreeland; brother, Rich Vreeland; grandparents, Elaine Vreeland, Louis Portuesi and Joyce Christopher; aunt, Jane Portuesi; godmother, Aunt Sandra and Uncle Charles Petrizzo; and lifelong best friends, Elizabeth and Tricia Anastasio and Caryn Montalbano.
