Frank C. Russell Jr.
Frank C. Russell, Jr., 90, formerly of Russell Drive, died suddenly on Tuesday, May 22nd while wintering in Naples, FL. Born in Stillwater, April 13, 1927, he was the son of the late Frank C. and Hazel Russell, Sr. Frank and his wife June lived in Stillwater most of their married life, and wintered in Florida, lastly in Naples for many years. A US Army veteran, Frank served during WWII and was honorably discharged after the war ended in 1946. He worked for D.A. Collins Construction Co. for many years before opening his own business in the 1960's. Frank was the owner/operator of FC Russell and Son Construction Co, Inc along with his wife and later with son Frank, III until retiring in 1976. His son would continue the legacy of the successful company that Frank Jr. started. He was a longtime member of the American Legion and the Mechanicville-Stillwater Elks, Lodge 1403 and while in Florida, the Naples Lodge 2010. He was also a past member of the Moose Lodge in Naples. A community minded man, he was also a Village of Stillwater Board Trustee, a Stillwater Cub Scout Master and an avid volunteer for the Mechanicville-Stillwater Little League program. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed hunting and fishing, always willing to take the grandkids out to catch the "big one." Sadly, Frank was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, June Burch Russell in 2007; an infant son, Thomas Russell, who died in 1964; a granddaughter, Amie Walsh in 2016 and siblings, Helen Clothier, Floyd Russell and Hazel Kipp. Survivors include his four children, Kathleen and Joseph Montinieri of Dedham, MA, Frank and Darlene Russell III of Bonita Springs, FL, Linda and Robert Farnan and Gail Lathrop, both of Naples, FL. Also his 15 grandchildren, Kimberley, Seth, George and Jon Harbeson, Andy and Brad Russell, Michael, Daniel and David Farnan, Jamie Lathrop, Jennifer, Mark and Scott Montinieri, John, Sarah and Abby Morton; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, William (Theresa) Russell of Stillwater. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in St. Peter's Cemetery, Stillwater. There will be no calling hours.
