Colbert, Johnny Lee "Papa John" December 2, 1925 July 15, 2014 Johnny Lee Colbert is resting safely in the arms of the Lord. John was an overhead crane operator with Blow Knox Refinery in East Chicago, Indiana, where he retired after 45 years of employment. He was preceded in death by parents, Sanford Colbert Sr. and Rosie (Comer) Colbert; siblings, Hugh, Sanford and Rebecca; and daughter, Janice E. Davis. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, LaVerne (Reagins) Colbert; sister, Dixie Hunter; sons, Lawrence (Cheri) Patton and Demitrius Colbert; daughters, Yuvette (Gino) Gordon, Yvonne (Christopher) Young, Lisa Reagins and Shannon (Derrick) Glenn; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation Sunday, July 20, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Homegoing Celebration on Monday, July 21 at 11:00 a.m. All services at Goodwill Baptist Church, 5119 Indianapolis Blvd, East Chicago, Indiana. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park.
