Clayton Lee Hansen, 88, of Grand Island died Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Grand Island Veteran's Home. According to his wishes, Mr. Hansen will be cremated and a private family service will be at a later date. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is serving the family. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice. Mr. Hansen was born June 22, 1924, the youngest son of Louis and Teckla (Sharpe) Hansen, at Pacific Junction, Iowa. He attended school at Omaha Benson High and graduated with the class of 1943. He entered the United States Army in April 1943 and was honorably discharged in December 1945. He also served in the Army Reserves from 1948-1951. Following his discharge from active duty, he attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and graduated in 1950. Clayton was united in marriage to Jeanette M. Brown on Sept. 3, 1950, at Pueblo, Colo. His life was spent as a civil servant. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette of Grand Island; three sons, Steven D. and his wife, Cynthia (Dibbern) Hansen of Cairo, Russell L. and his wife, Deb (Andelt) Hansen of Kearney, and Grant W. and his wife, Pam (Pointer) Hansen of Grand Island; five grandchildren, Jared, Kendra, Brian, Kayla and Sara Hansen and one great-granddaughter, Mia Riekenberg. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Charlane Hansen of Blue Grass, Iowa. Mr. Hansen was preceded in death by his parents; twin siblings (stillborn); three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Elmer Gilbert and Jane Hansen, Herbert Holden and Lorraine Hansen and Robert Louis Hansen; and four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Tennesse Minnie and Fred Rauscher, Virginia and Joseph Phihal, Teckla Louise and Herbert Thomas and Agnes Hansen.
