1935 - 2012 Mr. Joey C. Chan, 76 of Morris Plains, NJ formerly of Ridgefield, CT, passed away peacefully with his wife, daughter and son in law by his side at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, New York Westchester County on April 20, 2012. He was born on September 14, 1935 in Nanjing, China to the late Wu Chang Chan and Lu Yin Bin Chan. He was the youngest of nine children. His brothers and sisters were all physicians in Mainland China. A graduate of National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, he earned a B.A in Finance and Economics. He earned his MBA at New York University in Finance in 1970. He married Dr. Linda Reyes Chan on December 27, 1969, his beloved wife of 42 years. He was the former President of the Northern New Jersey Chinese Association and a member of Mensa International (High IQ Society). Mr. Chan retired as the Founder, Chief Executive Officer/President of Tian Yuan Trading Company in Nanjing, China. His company imported and exported medical and surgical supplies. His daughter, Dr. Alexandra Chan (Katz) was appointed as CEO and President on April 6, 2012 as the company expanded its focus on Investment Management and wealth growth in the USA and Asia. Mr. Chan is survived by his beloved wife, Dr. Linda Reyes Chan of 42 years of Morris Plains, NJ, his daughter, Dr. Alexandra Chan (Katz) and son in law Dr. Jack H. Katz of Pound Ridge, NY and Southampton, Long Island and his son, Augustine Reyes Chan of New York, NY. He will be deeply remembered for his brilliance, kindness, generosity, charisma and charm and the remarkable love he had for his wife and two children. He was a doting husband and father and his family was the true love of his life. The family will have a private cremation on Monday April 23, 2012 in Westchester County, NY. Funeral Services are being handled by Clark Associates Funeral Home at 4 Woods Bridge Road in Katonah, NY (914) 232- 3033. www.clarkassociatesfuneralhome.com. Memorial services will be held at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church at 7 Pound Ridge Rd in Bedford, NY on Tuesday April 24, 2012 at 10am. A lunch reception will follow at the home of his daughter and son in law at 23 Clearwater Lane in Pound Ridge, NY (Westchester County). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pound Ridge Lions Volunteer Ambulance Corp. 89 Westchester Avenue Pound Ridge, NY 10576 His daughter, Dr. Alexandra Chan will bring his ashes to be buried near his parents in mainland China.
