JOHN EVERETT FARRINGTON
FARRINGTON, JOHN EVERETT August 4, 1929 to August 27, 2010 John Everett Farrington, 81, of Serra Mesa went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 27th. He was born on Detroit, Michigan and called San Diego his home for the last 66 years. In January, 1951, John was called into service by the U.S. Army, spending 13 months in Korea with the 7th Infantry Division "Replacement" Company, where he earned the Combat Infantry Badge, the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars and the UN Service Medal. In late 1952, John met the love of his life, Patricia Scott, and married in 1955. They had three sons: John Mark, Craig Scott and Steven Kent. During his 55 years of marriage, John was a living example of what God calls for us to be as men of God. John loved to explore the outdoors and spend time with his family and friends. Golf and model trains were hobbies and he never tired of going on rides at Disneyland with his grand-children. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, his sons, his brothers, George and Jimmy, eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 13th, at 1:00 p.m. at Shadow Mountain Community Church, 2100 Greenfield Dr., El Cajon, CA 92019. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to San Diego Hospice.
