In memory of
Janice K. Cox
Cox, Janice K. age 77 of Phoenix, Arizona passed away March 27, 2010 of natural causes in Paradise Valley Hospital. Jan was born in Manchester, New York, daughter of Agar and Kathryn; moving to Chandler, Arizona as a teenager where Jan graduated from Chandler High School. Upon graduating High School, Jan graduated from Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing, where she worked as a nurse until marrying James T. Cox and starting a family. Her children are Thomas Cox, Deborah Thorpe, Ted Cox and Wendy Cox. Jan had three grandchildren, David Cox, Nicholas Thorpe and Maggie Thorpe. Her husband Jim passed in April of 2006. Jan's only sibling, her older sister Maxine Laroux still lives in Tempe with her husband Phil. Jan was a wonderful mother and friend to everyone she met. She always saw the positive in people and had the most caring heart. After her children were grown, Jan went back to school so that she could once again return to the service of others as a Registered Nurse, a career she dearly loved. Jan loved her Phoenix Suns, playing the slots in Las Vegas and playing cards with her girlfriends. She loved words and humor immensely. She will be dearly missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing her. The following is one of Jan's favorite poems. Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you all. If you can only remember me with tears, then don't remember me at all. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary.
