DAYTONA BEACH - Philip Spiro Oldashi, 82, of South Palmetto Avenue, a retired firefighter for the City of Daytona Beach, died Sunday at home. Mr. Oldashi, a Navy veteran of World War II, was born in Big Stone Gap, Va., and moved to this area in 1957 from Kingsport, Tenn. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1590, and helped form the Daytona Beach Fire and Police Retirees Association. He enjoyed sports. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Wilma; a son; a brother, David, Nashville, Tenn.; three sisters, Grace, Betty and Anne; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Lane, Port Orange, FL 32129, or to St. Judes Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.
