In memory of
Patricia Ann Dene
Long Beach, CA - Patricia Ann Dene, a much-loved resident of the Spinnaker Bay community in Long Beach, passed away on September 1, 2015 at the Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. Patricia Armentano was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 17, 1941 and attended Fontbonne Hall Academy, a college preparatory school for young women. While still a teenager in Brooklyn, she met her soul mate and partner for life, Michael Dene. Michael and Patricia were married on October 20, 1962. Patricia obtained a degree from Fordham University in New York where she studied Early Childhood Education. After graduation, she worked as an Executive Secretary and Proofreader for Devon Adair Publishers and then as an Executive Secretary at E.F. Hutton & Co. on Wall Street. She retired from Wall Street in 1964 to begin a family with Michael and they raised their three children in Staten Island. The Denes moved to California in 1993 where Patricia pursued her passion for philanthropy through organizations like Steel Magnolias, a not-for-profit organization. In 2008 Patricia and Michael entered an exciting new phase of their lives when they opened Michael's on Naples Ristorante, soon followed by 4 more restaurants. Whenever people encountered Patricia-at one of their restaurants or out in the community-she left an unforgettable and lasting impression. She treasured her family and loved ones and infused those around her with her positive, radiant energy. Her love for her family, her friends that became her family, and her simple love for life and living it to the fullest will live on forever in the memories she has left behind. Patricia is survived by her husband of 53 years, Michael Dene, and their children: daughter Lydia, her husband Michael, and their children Michael and Matthew Comito; daughter Audrey, her husband Joseph, and their children, Nicole and Jenna Bregante; and son Carl, his wife Heather, and their sons Jack and Parker Dene. Patricia is also survived by her brother, Lawrence Armentano and sister-in-law Linda and her five nieces and nephews, and many close friends. Funeral services will be held in New York …In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Patricia's name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. donate.lls.org
