In memory of
LeRoy Cummings
LeRoy Cummings, 84, entered into eternal peace on March 25, 2018 at McLeod Hospice House. LeRoy was born April 8, 1933 in Florence, SC to Otto Ham Sr. and Alma Loyd. He was raised in Harlem, New York, and graduated from Clinton High School. He married the late Delores Cummings Ellis in 1951. From their loving union, three children, Azande, Andre’ (deceased), and Kim entered the world. LeRoy was the respected owner and operator of his trucking fleet in New York City. He valued and enjoyed his retirement years in Lamar, South Carolina. His favorite pastimes were looking at a sporting event on his wide screen TV, a good ham dinner, visiting his brothers, RC Cummings (deceased), and “Junior Boy” in Florence, and relaxing with his crony Mr. Pall Mall. LeRoy was also an uncomplicated, private, gentle spirit who loved being with his best friend Claritha Brunson. His motto was “Do what you do BEST”; such a mouth full for such a soft spoken soul. He leaves to honor his life and cherish his memory: his children Azande Cummings (Tizana) and Kim C. Green (Brian); 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his beloved siblings, Otto Ham Jr.(Shirley), Robert Ham (Barbara); Bernice Nelson, and sister-in-law, Rosa Cummings; Special persons in life to whom he was a father figure to; Nicole, Kenyetta, Tisha, Nieces, Tyron, and Tina; best friend, Claritha Brunson; and a host of family and friends. Years may come and go, but your memory will never be erased of the pleasant and welcoming man known to many as “Daddy, Bro, Pa-Pa, Unc.”
