Marie Cecil LaValley Trombley, 76, of Ellenburg, entered "eternal rest" on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 8, 1938, in Mooers Forks, the daughter of the late Genevieve (Bosley) and Andrew LaValley. She attended St. Peter's School in Plattsburgh. She graduated from Mooers High School in 1956. Marie married Samuel J. Trombley on August 4, 1956. Marie is predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Walter and Ronald LaValley. Survivors include two sons: Samuel A. Trombley and his companion Carolyn Reid of Champlain, Christopher K. Trombley of Marlborough, MA; four daughters: Wanda A. Bushey and her husband Randy of Hudson, NH, Bonnie T. Acosta and her husband Dr. Edwin Acosta of Elmira, NY, Lynne M. Swedick and her husband Paul of Albany, NY, and Katrina M. Stone and her husband Jamie of Ellenburg Depot; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Maryann LaValley; one sister and brother-in-law, Eileen and Roger Blow, four sisters-in-laws, Doris LaValley, Marguerite Forrett, Eunice Bell, and Eleanor and her husband Kenneth Steady. Marie's thirteen grandchildren are: Nolan Reid, Kirsten Gleason, Gregory Bushey, Sandra McKay-Bushey, Emily Bushey, Hannah Bushey, Ashley Acosta, Evin Acosta, Schuyler Acosta, Christian Trombley, Logan Swedick, Landon Stone and Madison Stone. Marie's four great-grandchildren are: Keegan Gleason, Ryan Gleason, Adrian Estebanez, and Ethan Estebanez, several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Marie's Spiritual/Religious Life Includes: Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Altar and Rosary Society Member, District Deputy, Regent, and member of the Catholic Daughters, completed a two-year Formation for Ministry program in the Diocese of Ogdensburg, led the Project Gabriel program, advocate for the Right to Life, Religious Education Coordinator and educator, prayer line liaison, RCIA Director, served on the Benevolent Committee, member of the Diocese Pastoral Council, Legislative Chairman of Diocese of Ogdensburg, and a member of Bible Study groups. Marie's Professional Life: Worked at Plattsburg Air Force Base (ITT Kelleogg Communications), which was responsible for the installation of Atlas missiles, Secretary for the Director of Nursing at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Co-owner of Trombley's Construction, Frosty Lounge Diner, Ranch Side Park Campsite and caterer of many receptions at Trombley's Club House. She once was the Republican Vice Chairman of Clinton County and an active member of the Ellenburg Republican Committee. She attended two Presidential Inaugurations in Washington, D.C. with her husband Sam. Marie's Family Life: Devoted Wife, AMAZING MOTHER, Loving Grandmother and Great-grandmother! SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY ANYONE WHO KNEW HER! There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 27th, at St. Edmund's Catholic Church in Ellenburg, NY. Marie's nephew, Bishop Terry LaValley & Fr. Ted Crosby will officiate over the Mass as well as other local clergy. Burial will follow at St. Edmund's Cemetery.
