William Cody Bryant
William "Cody" Bryant, 23, of Gurnee passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at his home. He was born August 15, 1991 in Stockton, CA and grew up in a military family living all around the country. He was a 2010 Warren High School graduate and was an employee of Presbyterian Homes as a security guard in Evanston. Cody was very active in the Lake County Sheriff's Explorers Post 2066 working toward becoming a police officer. He was a member of St. James Parish in Highwood and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Surviving are his loving parents, William "Bill" and Denise Bryant of Gurnee; by his 3 sisters, Sarah, Madison and Bailey Bryant; his maternal grandmother, Cris Mekuly of Gurnee; paternal grandfather, William "Bill" (Latricia) Bryant, I of Blacksprings, AR; 3 uncles, John (Sarah) Sbertoli, Ryan Mekuly, and Jacob (Julie) Bryant; and by an aunt, Glenda "Tootie" (Sid) Heptig.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dennis Sbertoli in 2005 and by his paternal grandmother, Glenda Ruth Sibley in 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015 at St. James Parish, 134 North Ave. Highwood, IL 60040. A visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.) in Libertyville.
