Bertha Huminski
Bertha Huminski, 78, of Elkton, MD, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015. Born in Elkton on June 16, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha Zembrowski Huminski. A 1954 graduate of Elkton High School, Miss Huminski was a Medical Laboratory Technician Certificate graduate of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania-Philadelphia and had worked as a Medical Lab Technician in the tri-state area for more than twenty-five years. She then became a customer service representative, retiring in 1998. A lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Elkton, she enjoyed meeting people from all backgrounds, liked driving her car and taking long rides. She also enjoyed reading, playing Bingo, Yahtzee and cards and watching game shows on TV which dealt with various bits of information on a wide scale. In addition to her parents, Miss Huminski was preceded in death by her nephews, Reggie Thompson, Charles Jr. and Thomas Racine; brother, John Huminski, sisters, Helen Thompson, Mary Wisniewski, Stephania Lewis, Stella Racine and Ann Mackay. Survivors include several nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 31 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church 454 Bow Street, Elkton, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Parish Outreach in care of Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, 21921 or to a charity of your choice.
