In memory of
On Sunday, March 28th, 2021, Ruth Augusta Blair, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and great aunt passed away at the age of 93.
Ruth was born on December 3rd 1927 in Chicago, IL to Otto Pockrandt and Rose Pockrandt. On June 2nd 1948 she married Marshall Howard Blair. They raised a son Thomas Howard Blair, and later in life Ruth found the daughter she never had in her son's wife Babette.
Ruth had a passion for life, animals, and being there for those around her. She worked hard every day of her life and showed what a life well lived could look like. Throughout her life Ruth worked as a waitress, caregiver, and housekeeper. However, that did not make her who she was. What made up Ruth as a person was her love for life and those around her. She loved animals, being around people, giving to others and donating to her charities. She loved reading newspapers and singing along to every song she heard. She loved the changing of seasons and the new life it brought around her. She loved traveling, resale stores, and coffee. She loved her son and always lit up with pride hearing him sing and play drums. There wasn't just one thing that Ruth did that made her who she was in life. It was all the moments both big and small that showed the world how unique and special she was and how selfless she was. In the words of her son Thomas "She was an Angel sent here and put in a humans form." Ruth had a purpose that she fulfilled, and made an impact on everyone around her. She showed the world what it is to love and be selfless and to be truly good to the core. She was an inspiration and has touched many people's hearts and will remain in all of them forever.
Ruth is survived by her brother Richard Pockrandt, children Thomas (Babette) Blair ,grandchildren Scott Blair, and Paul Blair, and great grandchildren Paul Jr, Jazzmin, Nina, and Taylor.
Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Otto Pockrandt her mother, Rose Pockrandt, her husband Marhsall Howard Blair, sister in law Ruby Pockrandt, and her late life partner Charlie Hedges .
