Alison Ann Anderson, 55, of Lindenhurst passed away peacefully on May 2, 2020 at her home with her loving husband Tim and her family by her side.
Alison was born on January 30, 1965 in Chicago, the daughter of John M and Mary S (Fox) Hartnett. She married the love of her life Timothy Anderson on September 1, 2001 at St. Bede's Church in Ingleside, IL.
Alison was an accomplished self-trained cook and baker who always ensured every family gathering was full of not only delicious food but also noteworthy cakes and treats. She always made the most fabulous cakes for everyone in the family's birthdays. Alison continuously stretched her creative muscles for the little ones so they would have something special on their special day.
Alison spent many years in food service roles from deli & bakery manager to executive catering manager at Abbott Laboratories. Food was Alison's passion and she loved not only cooking and baking for others but also sharing her years of experience with all her family and friends.
Alison touched many people throughout her life, regarded as one of the most selfless people by her friends and family but also a staunch defender of the people she loved and cared for. Alison loved animals as well caring for her furry tribe throughout her life "Manny", "Petey" and "Archie".
Alison is survived by her loving husband of 19 years Tim; her mother Mary S Hartnett; siblings Timothy Hartnett (Maureen) of Richmond, IL and JoEllen Thornton (Brennan) of Spring Grove, IL: her many nieces and nephews Josh Hartnett (Valerie) of McHenry, IL, Eric Hartnett of Denver, CO, Wes Gardner (Margaret) of Minneapolis, MN, Megan Martinez (Hugo) of McHenry, IL, , Shane and Will Anderson of Naperville, IL, Colton, Carly and Carson Anderson of Springfield, OH; her great-nieces Maisie Hartnett and Aubrey Martinez both of McHenry, IL
She was preceded in death by her father John M Hartnett and her mother-in-law and father-in-law
Celebration of Alison's life will take place at a future time.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to American Cancer Society or Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
