Joseph R. Russo
Joseph Richard Russo, age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 1, 2019, in Barrington. He was born in Chicago on October 26, 1945, the son of William and Dolores (Pontarelli) Russo. On May 26, 1969, Joseph married the love of his life, the late Donna Booras. Together they raised their two daughters, Becky and Gia. Joseph worked for several years as a restaurateur then later moving on to his true passion in the landscaping business. Joseph and his wife loved being around family and friends, entertaining and opening their home to all. Joseph is survived by his loving daughters: Becky (Harold) Russo-Botti and Gia (Steven) Thime; and his grandsons, Samuel Joseph Mallinas and Alexander Michael Mallinas. He is further survived by his sister: Carol (Joseph) Stenson; sister-in-law: Marilyn Russo and many nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his parents: William and Dolores (Pontarelli) Russo and his brother William Russo, Jr. as well as his brother-in-law Dean Booras and sister-in-law Noreene Sedor. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 2pm to 7pm, at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joseph's name to Journeycare, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL 60010.
