Susan Evans (nee Chambers) 83, of Rocky River, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019, following a brief stay at Ames Hospice House, Hospice of the Western Reserve after a long battle with heart failure. She was born on November 24, 1935 in Hollywood, CA to the late Gordon and Mary Elizabeth Chambers. She was a proud 1957 graduate of Heidelberg College in Tiffin, OH where she met her soul mate Jim and they were married in April 1959. Among many acts of service during her life, Sue was an active 46-year member of Rocky River United Methodist Church, its Parables social group, several woman's groups, worked for the Rocky River Schools in Community Education and was active in the Three Arts Club. Sue is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, James D; cherished daughter Lynda E. Valentine (Richard); grandchildren Kellie Musch (Josh) and Patrick Evans; step-grandchildren Rachael Ward (Dan) and Richard Valentine, Jr.; step-great grandchildren Noah and Dakota; sister Cynthia Bates; and nephew Jeffrey Bennett. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be forwarded to Rocky River United Methodist Church's Endowment Fund. A memorial service will be Monday, February 18, 2019 at 10:30am at Rocky River United Methodist Church, 19414 Detroit Road, Rocky River, OH 44116.
