Charles L. Wollenweber
Charles E. Wollenweber, 80, of Bristol, passed away Tuesday May 15, 2018 at his home. He was born December 18, 1937 in Plano, IL the son of the late Charles and Bernice (Reynolds) Wollenweber. He married the love of his life, Jeannie Lynn Mosley on July 2, 1960. They spent the next 56 years of their lives together until Jeannie's passing June 26, 2016.
Charles spent most of his childhood in Aurora, graduating from West Aurora High School in 1956. He worked for Ironworker Local 393 from 1961 until his retirement in 1992. Him and Jeannie Lynn spent 32 winters in LaFeria, TX with many family and friends.
Chuck was an avid traveler, pulling his RV all over the United States. He enjoyed skeet shooting with his buddies and Tuesday breakfasts with his West High Classmates. When he wasn't spending time with his children and grandchildren, he was watching Cubs games and old Westerns or mowing his field on his old Allis-Chalmers tractor. His grandchildren have great memories with him, including many tractor rides.
He was preceded by his wife, Jeannie Lynn Wollenweber, and an infant son, William and his parents.
He is survived by his six daughters, Catherine (Luciano) Rodriguez of Plano, Christine (Kevin) Springer of Bristol, Rebecca Wollenweber of Bristol, Patricia Wollenweber of Plano, Jane Wollenweber of Bristol and Maggie (Tom) Heinzer of Sugar Grove and one son Charles (Jennifer) Wollenweber of Fergus Falls, MN. He is also survived by 29 Grandchildren, 5 Step-Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
He is also survived by four siblings, Donald (Karen) Wollenweber of Puryear, TN, David Wollenweber of Montgomery, IL, Jean (James) Murphy of Williford, AR and Donna Vicars of Sheridan, IL.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 12:00 p.m. May 26, 2018 at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr., Sugar Grove, IL 60554. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
