Norman Jay Fox La Quinta, CA - Norman Jay Fox, long time resident of the cove in La Quinta, CA passed away Saturday, May 18th. He died peacefully surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine of 62 years in 2009. He is survived by three daughters, Gayle Conyers (Don) of Victor, ID, Lisa Stone (Dale) of San Antonio, TX, and Leslie Reick (Charles) of Corona, CA as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was born on August 11, 1927 in Columbus, OH and served in the US Navy during World War II, graduated from University of Redlands where he played football, became a teacher and coach until his retirement. He was well known in the desert, frequently enjoying dinner and music especially at Lavender Bistro, The Grill on Main, Morgan's in the Desert and Arnold Palmers. He always had a firm handshake and treated everyone he came in contact with respect. He will be missed by all whomever had the pleasure of his company. No memorial services are planned.
