SMITH NICHOLAS JAMES SMITH of Avon Lake, OH, passe daway on June 21, 2016 after living with a glioblastoma multiforme for 2.5 years. Nicholas was born on August 6, 1978, to Betsy Scureman Smith and James M. Smith. He was the 1996 valedictorian of Hubbard High School, graduated from Penn State University and received his Masters from Cleveland State University. He was wed to Heather Pusztai on May 26, 2001. He worked as an engineer, with Evergreen Packaging in Olmsted Falls, OH. Nicholas leaves behind his beloved wife of 15 years, Heather Pusztai Smith, and his daughter, Ella (10) and son, Caleb (8). He is also survived by his parents, grandfather Thomas James Smith, grandmother Marion Fry Scureman; sister Kristen (Corey) Gomez of Avon, OH; mother-in law Diane Pusztai; sisters- in-law Julie (Brian) Notman and Sherri Pusztai and a host of other relatives. Nicholas was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Bernard Scureman, and grandmother, Beatrice Horrell Smith. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 28, at 10 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, 410 Lear Road, Avon Lake, OH. Condolences will be received by the family from 9-10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be sent to The Gathering Place www.touchedbycancer.org ; Hospice of the Western Reserve www.hospicewr.org ,; or the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, P.O.
